Geography- The study of the earth’s surface,
climate, continents, countries, peoples,
industries, and products
Equator- An imaginary line around the middle
of the earth, halfway between the North Pole
and the South Pole 0* Latitude

Prime Meridian- An imaginary line that runs
from the north to the south pole. 0* Longitude
Latitude- Runs north and south measuring
distance in degrees
Longitude-Runs East and West measuring
distance in Degrees

Longitude/ Latitude. Relative
is in relation to other places
Place- Description of a
location. Can Be physical or
human. Physical can by
land, climate, bodies of
water, animals and plants

Religion, populations, and
jobs

Formal-specific
characteristics that are
fairly uniform throughout
Functional-a social or
economic function that
occurs through out the
specific area
Ex: circulation of the New
York Times
Perceptual-exists in
peoples minds
