CONTENTS
This CD contains eleven applets that complement the science.connect™ 2 textbook.
INSTALLATION
The contents of this CD can be run from CD-ROM or a hard drive.
NOTE: This CD contains two directories — PC and Mac. To increase speed of operation of the
applets, copy the relevant directory (folder) to the hard drives of the individual workstations in
your computer lab. Simply select the contents of the relevant directory (PC or Mac) and copy
(drag and drop) them to the hard drive of each computer that you will be using.
Or, you can copy the relevant directory to the hard drive of a network server. To make it easier
for your students to find the applets, create a short-cut icon on the desktops of the individual
workstations.
OPERATION OF APPLETS
PC
To access the applets, double-click on menu.exe within the PC directory.
Macintosh
To access the applets, double-click on the menu icon within the Mac directory.
COMPLETING APPLETS
Students can print a certificate of completion only after each screen of an applet is completed.
Screens are complete when a yellow background highlights the forward button and the words
“Page Complete” appear. This occurs after all audio tracks are finished and any interactive
exercises are completed.

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
QuickTime 4.0 or higher is required to run the applets on both PC and Macintosh.
QuickTime 6.0 or higher — http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
Installation files for QuickTime 6.0 are contained within the PC and Mac directories.
