Registration Form for January – December, 2017
3CD is a self-initiated and self-funded network of stakeholders committed to advancing career
development in Canada. It provides a national advocacy voice for the career development field,
provides a vehicle for international outreach and engagement and fosters collaboration on common
issues including (but not limited to) policy, research, certification, training, practitioner mobility and
building the career development evidence base.
A Word 3CD’s Approach to Membership:
3CD’s original vision was to bring together career development associations and organizations
representing Career Development Practitioners (CDPs) to collaborate on common issues and form a
stronger national advocacy voice for our field. It quickly became clear, however, that the activities of
3CD could benefit from – and be of interest to – a wider range of stakeholders, including postsecondary institutions and other groups offering training and professional development to CDPs,
provincial government departments focused on education and/or labour, resource developers and
private service providers.
Today, 3CD’s approach to membership tries to reflect a spirit of inclusion. 3CD is volunteer-driven.
Membership fees cover some hard costs associated with coordination and communication and,
ultimately we hope, will also support Working Group initiatives. Accordingly, every member is asked
to contribute a flat annual membership fee of $500 as an investment in the field of career
development to advance the work of 3CD. Larger contributions are, needless to say, very welcome!
If, however, this investment is beyond financial means/sources at this time, members are asked to
use the Registration Form to indicate the amount of their contribution this year and to consider
delineating any in-kind contributions (of time, expertise and/or resources) which might be provided.
There is no differential power or status within the Council and we continue to strive to function on a
consensus basis in which everyone at the table is equally valued. We have not and will not make
public the amount paid by specific members. Once registered, members will be copied on all CCCD
correspondence, welcome to join Working Groups and invited to vote and nominate candidates to the
Board.

PART B
All members are encouraged to consider how they can contribute in-kind. Many members are now active
contributors to 3CD Working Groups – this is an invaluable contribution! Others might offer their time,
expertise or resources to support 3CD (either specifically – for example, by offering to contribute translation
services – or more generally as needs arise). Please indicate below how you see yourself being involved. This is
not a commitment but a statement of intent. This will allow the Board to have an inventory of expertise and
resources available within the community to access and request as needed.
Please make cheques payable to CCCD.
A receipt will be issued within 30 days of payment receipt.
