POSITION: Multimedia Graphic Designer
POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for supporting the marketing unit in promoting the College internally and
externally via multi-media modalities. The work will be in accordance with overall standards for the division
and College to promote a positive image of the College through graphic design, production and editing of
videos, and photography, as well as project management and printing practices.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelor’s degree in a course of study related to the occupational field of the position, and sufficient
experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, or Associate
Degree with two years of paid work experience in Multimedia/Graphic Design, or High School diploma or
equivalent and four years of paid work experience in Multimedia/Graphic Design
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type
of vehicle or equipment operated.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



Experience in an educational setting.
Demonstrated ability utilizing various digital options, including: shooting video using DSLRs, GoPros,
Smartphones; and, creating editorial work in Adobe Premier, Final Cut, and/or Avid and basic graphics with
Adobe After Effects.
Experience working in corporate marketing, including branding principles, advertising, publications, etc.
BENEFITS/SALARY



$35,842.37/annual salary
Benefits include paid holidays, annual leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program.

Multimedia Graphic Designer

JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supporting the marketing unit in promoting the College internally and
externally via multi-media modalities. The work will be in accordance with overall standards for the division
and College to promote a positive image of the College through graphic design, production and editing of
videos, and photography, as well as project management and printing practices.
MAJOR DUTIES
Graphic Design

Supports the marketing unit by producing graphics for program offerings, special events, web content,
social media, etc. and maintaining the College brand. This includes design of material, logo usage, image
use and manipulation, fonts and other design elements.
Video Production

Supports the marketing unit by producing quality video and audio content for multimedia use. This includes
storyboards, scriptwriting, videotaping, editing, and file storage organization.
Photography

Supports the marketing unit by producing quality digital photography via formal and informal photo shoots,
photo composition, editing, and filing, and using Photoshop or other software.
Other



Responds to the needs of the department and the college by assisting other team members when
necessary.
Assists with community-related events.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skill in audio recording and editing
Skill in project management
Skill in printing methods and applications
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
Ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to travel between campuses and other locations as determined by needs of the College
Skill in Microsoft Office suite
Critical thinking abilities and good decision-making skills
Knowledge of college’s mission, vision and values
Knowledge of college’s programs and services
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Director of Marketing and the Coordinator of Marketing and Public Relations assign the work in terms
of unit goals and objectives, and then assigns specific projects based on the unit objectives. A supervisor
reviews work through reports, observations and conferences.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include Chattahoochee Technical College policies and procedures, accreditation
communications policies and procedures, TCSG policies and procedures and the College’s style standard.
Additionally, legal protocol for photos, videography, and recordings.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK



The work consists of varied duties in all aspects of internal and external communications
The purpose of the position is to broadly support the multi-media needs of the college on multiple
platforms.
Success in this position contributes to communicating the college’s programs and services, consistency
with communicating guidelines of accrediting bodies and regulatory agencies all leading to a positive
reputation for the College.
