CV of Dr Matthias Quake
Dr Matthias Quake is happily married to Joanne Lim and they have 3 daughters and 1 son. He
received Christ as His Saviour and Lord in 1977 when he was in his first year in the Faculty
of Dentistry, National University of Singapore. He was the point elder and the chairman of
the Council in Bethesda Bedok Tampines Church from 1992 to 1999. He remained as an
elder in the Council but stepped down in 2008 to enter into the marketplace ministry.
Dr Quake operates a busy and thriving city dental practice. His 27 years as a dental general
practitioner enables him to personally avail to his patients the wide range of dental
treatments; from simple dental prophylaxis and restorations to complex dental procedures as
dental implants with fixed and removal prostheses, and other dental surgical procedures. He
practises holistic dentistry combining these treatments with the latest state of the art laser
dentistry and pulsed CBCT scans. He adopts 1 Timothy 6:18,19 as his practice’s work policy
and his practice tagline is “Making You Smile For Life”.
He is appointed as one of the international faculty members of the Bicon Institute of lecturers
and instructors. He mentors dentists in Singapore in the Bicon dental implants procedures and
ridge augmentation procedures. He lectures on dental implantology, cone beam volumetric
imaging and laser dentistry.
Dr Quake had invited his patients to church and seen them coming to know Christ. In his
busy dental practice, he had the pleasure of praying for and with his patients and the honour
of ministering to them with the Word of God. He applies the “Saline Solution” programme on
them.
He has led medical-cum-dental missions and also taught and preached the Word of God in
Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, India and Indonesia. In Indonesia, he had
ministered in Jakarta, Surabaya, Jogjakarta, Solo, Medan, Denpasar, Kuta, Pontianak,
Singkawang, Manado, Tomohon, Gorontalo, Batam, Tanjung Pinang and many other
villages.
He is a mentor to key leaders in his local church and to dental students and dentists; being a
strong proponent of mentoring and disciple-making. He is a board member of World Harvest
(Singapore) and WorldTeach (Singapore).
As a Christian, he is continually aware of the Lord’s presence in his dental practice and
Christian ministry in church and the marketplace. He recognises that his profession as a
dentist is a privileged position given by God; where the Christian’s life as a dentist is one of
integrity so as to honour and glorify God.
