21th Century, the progress of developed countries, based on an extravagant consumption, has
no limits. In spite of that, in many places of the world, over six millions of people are still dying
of starvation every year. These figures could be even higher without the international aid and
famine reliefs which try to curb this relentless drama. There is a public outcry for a definitive
solution, but finding the key requires good will and hard job.
On the one hand, there are some theories, which propose the progressive withdraw of the
international aid to the developing countries, in order to avoid the so-called poverty trap
effect. This effect occurs when countries are unable to escape from poverty because the
international aid is reduced when their statuses improve, falling again into poverty.
On the other hand, if the international aid were taken away, the consequences would be
devastating for the extremely poor countries. The famine would spread out and subsequently
the number of dead would increase. Eventually, the migratory flows towards the developed
countries would be unstoppable.
To find a solution to this inconceivable situation, firstly, it is necessary to identify the roots of
the problem. All experts agree that the lack of education and the stringent trade policies are
the main causes of the poverty in developing countries. Therefore, the solutions could range
from long-term investments in education to lifting the trade export duties for the poor
countries.
Summing up, it could be stated that there are no easy solutions to solve the developing
countries poverty. But, it is also a fact that neither withdrawing the aids nor continuing
contributing without forward-looking prospects is going to do it.
Good writing. Good and very clear structure. Try to reduce the number of words as in the
exam they won’t correct all.
