Geologist
 Worked on different offshore Surface Geochemical Exploration (SGE) projects and Heat Flow Measurements.
 The main aim of the project was discovering potential hydrocarbon zones at prescribed locations in different
offshore basins.
 Analysed the mud columns upto greater depths, preparing the Headspace cans for geochemical analysis and some
samples for microbiological tests.
 The process involved detailed study of gas fractures, and gas hydrates if any.
Projects worked on
 April 2007- June 2007: Offshore Mumbai (India) for ONGC project, on board Research Vessel, Ramey Tide, for
collection and detailed study of deep water mud samples for SGE.
 Sept-2007 – August-2008: Offshore Indonesia (different basins throughout Indonesia) on board R/V GeoExplorer for
collection and detailed study of mud samples for SGE. The project also includes Heat flow measurements and Box
Core (for Hydrocarbon Seep Study) at prescribed locations across Indonesia.
Department of Geology and Mining, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, India
Aug’04-Sep’05
Asst. Geologist (during my research programme (M.Phil.)
 The main aim of working at my own with the Government organization was to get broader perspective and
complete knowledge of the Geology of the State to use it for my filed work for the collection of rock samples from
my research area. The job mainly included making map profiles of the prescribed areas, visiting and working at
different geological projects across the state.
RESEARCH EXPERIENCE & TRAINING


Work experience in Geochemistry lab during research and familiarity with instrumentation, specifically with AAS,
Flame photometer, FID, XRF and mortar agate. Complete knowledge of the instruments and their working
principles.
Preparation of thin slides for petrologic studies for determination of different mineral constituents and different
mineral assemblages using High power electronic and simple petrographic microscope.
Training Programmes during M.Sc. and B.Sc
 Petroleum Exploration: In year 2003 visited the hydrocarbon exploration well sites of Ankleshwar (Gujarat) and
observed the various processes and problems encountered during the exploration. Got knowledge about the various
machinery and equipment used for drilling the well and mud logging methods used during the exploration of
crude oil.
 Mining and Exploration: In year 2002 visited the Zawar Zinc Mine (Rajasthan) to get the knowledge of underground
mining and their surface and underground mapping.
 Structural & Stratigraphical: In year 2002 visited Chittaurgarh and Udaipur (Rajasthan) for structural &
Stratigraphical studies in parts of Vindhyan and Aravalli Supergroup. Got field knowledge about different
sedimentary rock types and various deformational structures such as folds, faults, joints and lineaments and their
mapping.
 Petrological: In year 2001 visited Bayana (Rajasthan) for Petrological studies. This area lies under Delhi Super Group
and good for sedimentological work as well as igneous studies. Observed the types of sedimentary and igneous
rocks and their various features
