Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines (Animal Feed) Order 2006 Silvia Cartwright, Governor-General Order in Council At Wellington this 27th day of February 2006 Present: Her Excellency the Governor-General in Council Pursuant to section 2(2) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order. Contents 1 Title 2 Commencement 3 Animal feed declared to be agricultural compound Order 1 Title This order is the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines (Animal Feed) Order 2006. 2 Commencement This order comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette. 3 Animal feed declared to be agricultural compound (1) For the purposes of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997, animal feed is declared to be an agricultural compound. (2) In this clause,--animal feed means any substance or preparation manufactured or prepared in whole or in part from one or more than one kind of grain, seed, plant, oil, juice, meat, fish, or other source of nutrient of any kind and used, or intended to be used, as food for stock, pets, or other animals; and includes any animal feed additive animal feed additive means a non-nutrient substance added to animal feed to improve the preservation, digestion, colour, palatability, texture, or nutritive value of the animal feed. This order, which comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette, declares animal feed (including any animal feed additive) to be an agricultural compound for the purposes of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997. Certain types of animal feed already fall within the definition of agricultural compound. This order provides that all substances or preparations that are manufactured or prepared as animal feed will be treated as agricultural compounds for the purposes of the Act.
