It's A Bad News Bug A Science 8 Resource-based Project Purpose: To study the characteristics of an infectious diseases, to practice gathering and correctly citing information and to present this information to your peers. Proposed Task: Step 1. Gather information from at least three different sources (need print and internet sources) on a selected disease (see list below) Look for information such as: 1.the bacterium/virus that causes the condition 2.the symptoms and dangers of the disease 3.how it spreads, where it is commonly found, who is most vulnerable 4.treatment 5.discoverers of the disease and/or scientists who discovered the cure or treatments 6.any other interesting information Step 2. From your information, design a pamphlet that would be available for distribuation at public heatlh centers (see rubric on other side) Step 3. Create a Works Cited list of the resources you used.
