Year 10 Biology: The Study of Life
ELECTIVE Science

College invites
applications from
students with a
keen interest in
obtaining their
VCE or VET.
Year 10 Subject Selection:
COURSE OVERVIEW
In addition to the core subject
areas, Year 10 students will
complete one Central Study
comprising of 2 electives from
one learning area during
Semester 2 and another three
Electives over the two semesters.
Biology is the study of living things,
from the very small algae to the very
large elephant.
Biology examines the relationship
between living things and how they
interact with their non-living
environment.
Students will choose one elective Areas of study will include:
from each of the learning areas:
• Cells – plants and animals,
Arts, Technology, and Health &
structure and function
Physical Education.
• Plants and Photosynthesis
• Body Systems – the Digestive
