Bolzano and the traditional appointment of advent: the Christmas Market with all
the typical atmosphere of the preparation of Christmas. The scents of the wine
and the Christmas pastry shop are stirred to the sounds of Christmas music in an
indeed only concert. Rich program of animation in the week-end in the Walther
Square and the Churches of Bolzano. During the Christmas Market some of
restaurants of Bolzano and San Genesio offer, to fixed price, their characteristic
menù. The menù reveal the extraordinary combination between the typically
European kitchen and the taste of the Mediterranean tradition. 80 stallholders in
their delightful little huts will offer for sale handmade wooden, glass and ceramic
products along with charming Christmas and Christmas tree decorations, delicious
seasonal pastries and many more original gifts.
Festival of the Two Worlds - Spoleto
In 1958 the Italian-born American composer and librettist Giancarlo
Menotti, twice winner of the Pulitzer award, realized the dream of his
life: the festival of the two worlds. The name came from the creator’s
intention to gather the European and American scenes. The city
chosen to host the event was Spoleto, located in the region of Umbria,
for its beauty, its richness of suggestive theatrical venues and its
closeness to Rome. The unique atmosphere of free expression of
aesthetical, ideological, religious and political tendencies, together with
the natural and architectural beauty of Spoleto, attracted throughout
the years the biggest names of the entertainment and the jet-set:
Visconti, De Filippo, Valli, Russell, Zeffirelli, Rossellini, Williams, Rota,
Polansky, Scorzese, Pound, Gassman, Pavarotti, Domingo, Garcia and
many others.

Van Gogh Paintings and drawings - Brescia
The city of Brescia offers art lovers a priceless opportunity to see nearly 100 of
Vincent van Gogh’s drawings together in a single exhibition. Because of their
fragility and the fact that they cannot be exposed to light for great lengths of time,
his drawings are never displayed in permanent museum exhibits. Therefore, the
extremely rare showings of these works are the only chance to see them, and
this is what Brescia is offering the Italian public. In addition to the drawings, ten
of Van Gogh’s most important paintings will also be shown, permitting a direct
comparison with the drawings in terms of theme and subject.
