Soundbite: Never send a boy to do a man's job...especially when he's a woman!
Summary: Nestled on the shores of a not-so-deserted fantasy island of pirates and wenches, Shakespeare's
shipwrecked tale of love, sex and identity confusion (a frequent plot device of Shakespeare’s) begins in
heartbreak and ends in hilarity and happily-ever-after. You'll laugh 'til you cry--and cry 'til you laugh as Viola,
Sebastian, Orsino, Olivia, Malvolio, and a cast of clowns explore "what they will" in William Shakespeare's
penultimate comedy, TWELFTH NIGHT. Great fun for the whole family!
A bit of Shakespearean Dramaturgy: TWELFTH NIGHT, often considered Shakespeare’s greatest comedy, was
first performed in 1602—and is the most musical of all of the canon of plays. TAMUCC actors/musicians Ian
Williams and Cory Kosel have delved into the Shakespearean world of Renaissance-inspired music and have
crafted a score tailor-made for this production.
Famous quotes from TWELFTH NIGHT:
“If music be the food of love, play on.” Act 1, Scene 1
“Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon ‘em.” Act 2, Scene 4
