What is an Endangered
Species?
• An endangered species is one animal that’s
numbers are so small that it is at risk of
extinction.
• Freshwater ecosystems are home to more than
100,000 known species of plants and animals,
and are now one of the most endangered
habitats in the world.
Solutions
• Future solutions
1. Defending and
strengthening the
endangered animals act.
2. If there is only one of a
species a search group
should go out and try to
find another one.
3. Making a law one
animal of any choice
should be killed each
year.
• Present solutions
1. Reducing threats to wild
animals.
2. Protecting and restoring
the habitats.
3. Arresting hunters that
kill endangered animals.
4. Eating veggies most of
the time.
5. Eating veggie burgers
instead of hamburgers.
What is causing Endangerment?
• Endangered animals are caused by mankind
and nature because for over 1,000 years or
even longer mankind and nature have
damaged or killed animals and their homes.
• The way humans can harm animals is by
cutting down trees, pollution, and over
hunting . The ways nature harms animal is by
disease, competition from other species, and
climate change.

• For our solutions, Brian decided to make signs
that say “replant trees when cut” and “be
careful with fishing supplies” ,Nigel agreed
with Brian ,Christian however had the idea to
stop hunting altogether and live off of
vegetables. All these ideas will benefit the
Ecosystem as well as the Economy.
Endangered Animals
• Three Endangered animals are The Giant
Panda ,The Blue Whale ,and Orangutan are
all Endangered species. The Giant Panda
and The Orangutan are both endangered
because their habitat is so scarce because of
humans. The Blue Whale is endangered
because of habitat loss ,toxics ,and also
fishing hazards such as being caught in
fishing nets. We are also catching too much
of their food.
•The Hawaiian Monk Seal is one of two remaining
monk seal species; the other is the Mediterranean
monk seal. A third species, the Caribbean monk
seal, is extinct.
•Adult males are 300 to 400(140 to 180 kg) in
weight and 7 feet (2.1m) in length while adult
females tend to be, on average, slightly larger, at
400 to 600 pounds (180 to 270 kg) and 8 feet (2.4m)
feet in length.
Black Spider Monkey
• The Spider Monkey’s real name is Ateles
paniscus. They are usually found in Tropical
and subtropical moist forests. They are 16-24
inches tall and weigh 15-19 pounds.
• Spider Monkeys have a reddish pink face and a
black coat of fur on themselves. They eat fruit
and bananas. Spider Monkeys use all four
limbs as well as their tail.
