FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Hanover Theatre Announces Annual Meeting Open to the Public
Worcester, Mass. (November 2, 2016) The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts holds its
2016 annual meeting on Wednesday, November 9. The event takes place in the Myles & C. Jean
McDonough Room at The Hanover Theatre Conservatory and Event Center from 6-8 p.m.
Refreshments and a cash bar are available before the program begins. The annual meeting
includes the president’s report, the annual H. Carter Hunt Volunteer of the Year Award and a
special musical performance by students from the theatre’s Youth Summer Program.
This year’s H. Carter Hunt Volunteer of the Year Award honors Mildred Anderson. Mildred
began volunteering during the theatre’s 2008 inaugural season. In addition to her many
administrative and event-related responsibilities, Mildred’s work ethic and dedication
exemplify the very best of The Hanover Theatre’s volunteer staff, and their desire to help the
theatre grow and thrive as an organization. The Hanover Theatre is grateful to have such a
committed person on its team.
In addition, recognition will be given to outgoing board members, new board members,
committee chairs and employees who have been with the theatre for five or more years. For
more information, contact Nel Lazour, director of development, at 508.471.1770.
About The Hanover Theatre
The Hanover Theatre continues to draw over 180,000 patrons annually with world-class
performances and headlining acts including Broadway hits (“Les Misérables,” “Jersey Boys”),
comedians (Dave Chappelle, Jay Leno, Daniel Tosh), musical acts (Neil Young, Aretha Franklin,
--more--
John Legend, Donny Osmond) and everything in between (“A Christmas Carol,” Alvin Ailey
American Dance Theatre, Alton Brown). POLLSTAR consistently ranks The Hanover Theatre as
one of the Top Theatres in the World. After eight seasons, the award-winning, historic theatre
continues to establish its place as a world-class performing arts venue, acting as a catalyst for
the economic development of downtown Worcester. The Hanover Theatre’s acquisition of 551
Main Street houses new function space, offices, rental space for a restaurant on the ground
floor and The Hanover Theatre Conservatory for the Performing Arts on the lower level.
Worcester Center for Performing Arts, a registered not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, owns
and operates The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts and Conservatory. All donations are
tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
