Technical Change Description: Added resources to support NSF Baseline Review
Extend existing contract with ARES corporation to supply temporary, additional project controls support. The
temporary personnel will help prepare baseline cost and schedule as well as project management documents for
the NSF review of the Advanced LIGO baseline planned for May 2006. The requested amount is up to $90,000.
There is no increase in budget if unused funds in the Advanced LIGO Project management account are used to
cover this request.
Budget Impact: $0
Budget Calculation: 5 Full Time Equivalent months (840 hrs) @ ~$107/hr = $89,880
The time will be split between a risk management expert and generic project controls support personnel.
The Advanced LIGO project management budget contains an allocation for a deputy systems engineering hire.
That hire will not occur before the end of January. The unused allocation for October 2007 through January 2006
is $90,000. This request asks approval to apply the unused funds toward another application in the same account.
Schedule Impact: Extra support is needed to prepare in time for a NSF review planned for May 2006.
