Lessons Learned/Future Work
• Funding significantly helps to propel any
project.
• Family involvement in our workgroup is
essential.
• Future Medical Home projects will need to
address behavioral and mental health concerns
affecting children with complex and genetic
conditions.
continued
• Our workgroup would also like to sponsor a
workshop led by Family Voices representatives,
since we believe families have a great deal to
teach medical and non-medical professionals
about optimal care for children with genetic and
metabolic conditions.
• Understanding the work of other NEGC
workgroups is critical in providing our workgroup
with ideas for future projects.
