Instructional Designer

Position Statement
The Instructional Designer will work with internal stakeholders to understand, document and train users across
investment Front Office and Middle Office systems.
Key Duties (what is done, how it is achieved and what the end result is)
The Instructional Designer will be responsible for the scope, design, development and implementation of
blended and sustainable learning approaches of systems training, however not limited to – including facilitator
led and/or e-learning programs. They will conduct learning needs analysis and will be creative with the
development of fun and innovative blended learning solutions that will have a strong attention to interactivity
and quality.
Where the need arises, the Instructional Designer will also be responsible for delivery of the systems training in
small group environments or one-on-one coaching sessions. They will evaluate the learning solutions to
measure the effectiveness, and will strive for continuous improvement and innovative design. Amendments to
relevant learning documentation will also be required as well as peer reviews and assistance with embedding
the learning throughout the business.
The Instructional Designer will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with
team members and key stakeholders of all organisational levels to ensure business goals are delivered. They
will partner closely with the business to create innovative learning solutions that meet or exceed the
businesses expected outcomes, and be able to tailor learning materials to meet individual company needs.
The Instructional Designer will provide best practice advice and solutions that are relevant and aligned to
strategy and the company culture. They will have strong analytical skills and adapt adult learning principles
and Instructional Design methodologies, such as ADDIE or any other leading practice Instructional Design and
learning methodologies they know where it’s fit for purpose.
The Instructional Designer will work with and be able to influence at a senior level. They will be highly
organised with an ability to work on multiple projects (not necessarily end-to-end) and deliver to deadlines in a
fluid working environment. They will be able to prioritise and manage their own workload.
The Instructional Designer should have a good understanding of, or be able to quickly understand, key
investment management and risk management processes. At times they may be required to assist the
Learning & Development team with their own internal processes, procedures and standards and other ad hoc
requests.

Qualifications / Industry Expertise



Tertiary qualifications would be preferred
Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent
Knowledge of the following functional domains would be highly regarded: Superannuation
 Investment Management (Front Office/Middle Office)
 Risk Management

5+ years’ experience in the Learning & Development field
2+ years’ experience in a Superannuation, Investment Management or Banking environment
2+ years’ experience in a Systems Support role
