What will you do when you get a flu? SECTION I: READING HEALTH RELATED ISSUES READING The flu is a wildly infected disease of the respiratory system. Flu-like symptoms include headaches, dizziness, sore throats, coughs, runny or stuffy noses, chills, fevers, fatigue and muscle aches. Various influenza viruses also cause the different types of infections. Influenza A usually arrives between early winter and early spring. Influenza B can appear at any time of the year. In 2009, the H1N1 flu, which is also known as the swine flu, became a world-wide epidemic. It is caused by a human seasonal flu virus that may also circulate among pigs. All the 6-month-old babies and over-65-year-old elders should get flu vaccines as soon as the current season's vaccines are available. The flu spreads easily. Most people catch the flu by touching something with the virus, and then they may get it through his mouth, nose, or eyes. Or they may breathe in tiny droplets from coughs or sneezes of someone who has got the flu. Therefore, it is very important to cover the nose and mouth with a tissue carefully when we cough or sneeze. And we need to throw the tissue in the trash can after using it. The temporary symptoms of the flu appear one to seven days later (usually within 2 or 3 days). Students or workers become sick within 2 or 3 weeks of the flu's arrival in a school or workplace.
