IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON MICROWAVE THEORY AND TECHNIQUES
Special Issue on
APPLICATIONS OF FERROELECTRICS IN MICROWAVE TECHNOLOGY
This Special Issue will focus on potential applications of ferroelectric materials, in both paraelectric and
ferroelectric phases, in microwave devices and systems. A strong preference will be given to experimental
papers with RF/microwave device or circuit demonstrations, and papers that address existing limitations of
the technology with respect to RF losses, measurements, and circuit performance.
Purely theoretical
papers, or papers discussing only the materials, deposition methods, or low-frequency properties will not be
considered.
Topics to be covered include, but are not limited to:
Applications of ferroelectrics in phase, frequency and amplitude controlled devices

Varactor devices based ferroelectric films

Ferroelectric-based resonators, tuneable filters and matching networks

Ferroelectric-based mixers and harmonic generators

Phase shifters and delay lines based on ferroelectrics

Voltage controlled oscillators and amplifiers using ferroelectric varactors

Steerable beam antennas and phased arrays

Tuneable metamaterials, frequency selective and impedance surfaces

Thin Film Bulk Acoustic Wave Resonators (TFBAR) and filters
Applications of ferroelectrics in passive devices as high permittivity dielectrics

Integrated small size (high density) decoupling capacitors

Low impedance transmission lines, and fixed delay time delay lines

Gate (field) dielectrics in MOS transistors
Manuscripts should conform to requirements for regular papers as specified in the information for Authors
in the inside back cover of IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques.
Manuscripts for review should be submitted in pdf format (limited to 1 MB is size) as an email attachment
to [email protected]. We will respond as quickly as possible to your submissions by replying with an
acknowledgement that your manuscript has been received and is under review. Related publications must
be cited in the manuscript and conference publication(s) attached with any submission. Authors must read:
