* Students are required to take six semesters total of advanced topics courses, four of
which must be MIC advanced topics courses or Microbiology and Immunology Seminar
(if offered). The prerequisites to take a MIC Advanced Topic course are the relevant 500
level core course and permission of the instructor. Students may register for the same
MIC Advanced Topic course twice, but are encouraged to take Advanced Topic courses
outside their area of interest and from other departments. Not all Advanced Topic
courses are offered every year.
MSTP Students are required to take two semesters of advanced topics courses
