GC Initial IQ – Press-over-Zircon: feldspar based modern
overpressable ceramic with
Both simple and aesthetic: Effect Pellets for
zircon frameworks with integrated light
dynamics
Restorations should be high quality and aesthetic, but also
economical for the laboratory; hence pre-sintered ceramic
ingots are becoming increasingly popular. The new GC
Initial IQ – Press-over-Zircon provides dental technicians
with a unique ceramic system for simple and efficient
overpressing of all kinds of zircon frameworks. As a result
of the special “One Body” concept of GC EUROPE, the
unparalleled opalescent Effect Pellets can be used to
produce economically yet aesthetically impressive crown
and bridgework in the posterior as well as the anterior
region in just a few working steps – without any timeconsuming layering!
GC Initial IQ – Press-over-Zircon is a modern overpressable
ceramic
system
which
uniquely
combines
the
pressing
technique with the advantages of CAD/CAM technology and at
the
same
time
produces
incomparably
vital
all-ceramic
restorations because of its high feldspar content. In addition,
these opalescent pressable pellets help to create internal light
dynamics and brilliant colour effects in the dentine area.
More brilliance and precision with just one pressing
process
Versatile and flexible: via a full wax-up in just one pressing
process, the new ceramic system from the Dental Care
Company can be used to fabricate precise ceramic shoulders in
the anterior region as well as fully anatomical contour pressings
in the posterior region – whether on coloured or white zirconia
frameworks. However, the system can also be used with the
cut-back technique efficiently and without any problems.
Furthermore aesthetics are literally inherent in the GC Initial IQ
– Press-over-Zircon system. This is because the new chemical
composition of the ingots offers unparalleled opalescence and
light distribution matching that of natural teeth and these
properties are not altered even by additional layer firings and
grinding. Another advantage is that all 16 classic Vita shades
can be achieved with just seven dentine ingots and three bleach
pellets – an enormous cost advantage in terms of purchasing
but also one less problem of space in the laboratory.
Improved aesthetics – simplified technique – shorter
working time
In addition, the newly developed GC Initial IQ – POZ Lustre
Pastes (one Neutral, four Body and seven Enamel pastes in
ready-to-use syringes) from the GC Initial IQ – One Body
concept
are
available
to
users
for
more
extensive
individualisation. These exclusive lustre pastes, which can also
be worked with the veneering ceramic systems GC Initial TI, AL
and the new Zr-FS, can be applied in parallel in a thicker layer
– giving the eventual restoration a natural translucency and
depth of colour. The process is completed with just a single
three-dimensional final firing.
Thus the advantages of GC Initial IQ – Press-over-Zircon are
obvious: improved aesthetics of zirconia restorations and a
technique that is quick and easy to learn but even simpler to
apply – ideally in combination with the new, fast heat-up special
investment GC MultiPressVest. At the same time, the new
press-over system enables dental technicians to achieve
uniform and repeatedly reproducible quality within a very short
time, which gives them a competitive edge not only in aesthetic
but also economic terms. In short, simply wax up, press once
and it is ready – then colour with the unique GC Initial IQ –
Lustre Pastes.
The new compact Press-over-Zircon range includes the
following: seven pressable pellets (2 or 5 grams) with matching
correction materials in the effect shades A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2,
D2, three bleach pellets and four power frame modifiers, which
mask the high brightness of some framework materials, as well
as various accessories.
