Major Trauma –
This talk will look at the role of the PRUH as a
Trauma Unit, results of the Peer Review and what
we have implemented as a consequence, what
happens during a trauma call and what our
targets are in terms of goals and management of
the trauma patients.
Motor Neurone Disease – MND
Motor neurone disease is a rare condition that
affects around two in every 100,000 people in the
UK each year. There are about 5,000 people living
with the condition in the UK at any one time. The
condition can affect adults of all ages, including
teenagers, although this is extremely rare.
Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) - these are
injuries or pain in the
body's joints, ligaments, muscles, nerves, tendons,
and structures that support limbs, neck and
back. They can affect many different parts of the
body including upper and lower back, neck,
shoulders and extremities (arms, legs, feet, and
hands). This talk will look at the different
musculoskeletal disorders that affect most
people, and also cover management and
treatment options.
Arthritis - In the UK, around 10 million people
have arthritis. It affects people of all ages,
including children. We will talk about the causes,
symptoms and treatments for Arthritis.
