Accreditation / Sectoral Scope
One of the big differences from CDM
 Sectoral scope

– Basis on the assignment of an assessment team
– Be useful for setting the competence criteria for an
assessor.
– It is difficult to define the sufficient knowledge and
understanding of environmental issues, technical
aspects, environmental auditing requirements and
accounting methodologies for all sector/source
categories.
Accreditation / Procedures

– Desk review (Document Check) /On-site
Assessment/ Witnessing
Reaccreditation
 Roles and responsibilities of an AIE

– Same as those of a DOE or different ?
– Whole steps are necessary for a
provisional AIE ?
National guidelines and procedures

No need for guidance by JISC ?
- National guidelines and procedures for approving
Article 6 projects, including the consideration of
stakeholders' comments, as well as monitoring
and verification ( para. 20 )
- The AIE shall determine whether the project has
been approved by the Parties involved (para. 33)

