CONDITIONS
This Equivalency Certificate authorizes GE Healthcare to handle, offer for
transport or transport, and authorizes any person to handle or transport on
behalf of the certificate holder, by road vehicle, dangerous goods that are
UN1963, HELIUM, REFRIGERATED LIQUID, Class 2.2, in a manner that does
not comply with subparagraph 5.10(1)(a)(ii) of the Transportation of Dangerous
Goods Regulations, if:
(a) the dangerous goods are contained in a means of containment that is a
magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) diagnostic medical instrument of type Signa
LX 1.5T, manufactured by GE Medical (ID number 250492MOBMR);
(b) the means of containment is designed, constructed, filled, closed, secured,
and maintained so that under normal conditions of transport, including
handling, there will be no accidental release of the dangerous goods that could
endanger public safety;
(c) the capacity of the means of containment is less than or equal to 2 000 L;

CONDITIONS
(d) the means of transport used to transport the dangerous goods has
displayed on it the dangerous goods safety marks in accordance with Part 4
(Dangerous Goods Safety Marks) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods
Regulations; and
(e) in addition to the requirements of Part 6 (Training) of the Transportation of
Dangerous Goods Regulations, the certificate holder ensures that the
personnel handling, offering for transport or transporting the dangerous goods
is trained in regards to the conditions of this Equivalency Certificate;
(f) the shipping document that accompanies the dangerous goods includes the
following information legibly and indelibly printed:
“Equivalency Certificate No. SH 6013 (Ren. 10)”
Note: The issuance of this Equivalency Certificate in no way reduces the
certificate holder's responsibility to comply with any other requirements of
the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, the Technical
Instructions for the Safe Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Air, the
International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, and the Canadian Aviation
Regulations not specifically addressed in this certificate.

Explanatory Note
This Equivalency Certificate allows the applicant to transport a magnetic
resonance imaging (MRI) instrument containing UN1963, HELIUM,
REFRIGERATED LIQUID, Class 2.2, in a non-specification means of
containment. This instrument needs to be transported between medical facilities
where it is required for patient care.
