Cell Reproduction Problem
During a biology experiment, a student accidentally creates a
“super” unicellular organism that is capable of reproducing
itself every hour. The “super” organism doesn’t die.
Calculate how many “super” organisms exist after each
successive hour for an entire week.
With a partner, use Excel to calculate, chart, and graph your
results.
BONUS: If each “super” organism is 100 cubic micrometers
in diameter, how long before they completely filled the
biology classroom that has a volume of 250 cubic meters.
