Nothing should be more important than providing safe, high quality care to all of the patients and delivering that care in an understanding, compassionate manner. It should be our mission and our passion to provide high quality care and high quality caring. The department of health can be able to hold themselves accountable for the delivery of high quality care by tracking their progress by the use of a formal scorecard which can be used to avail feedback from pertinent families. A secure electronic health record system would suffice provided it is capable of ensuring that one can view ones medical information online, keep in touch with ones physician in addition to managing ones appointments and assessing ones family record. With regard to staff morale, they can be provided with off time say every Friday as an appreciation gift. This ensures that there is minimal risk and improved quality because residents will be of the view that the department is making efforts to maker things better. This will make the employees see that their welfare is being taken into consideration.
