Meet the Corner House team We are committed to providing a service of the highest quality and therefore recognise the need to involve people at all levels. Residents at The Corner House receive individually tailored support to access mainstream social, leisure, education and cultural activities in ordinary community setting alongside other members of the community. The aim is to enable social inclusion and to promote a healthy lifestyle, supporting them to make informed choices. Each resident is part of a multidisciplinary Therapeutic Team, wherever possible a member of each Therapeutic team will be on duty. Regular team meetings take place enabling feedback on any issues or actions agreed by the team and, most importantly, communicate the resident’s feedback. Our Service User Involvement strategy extends involvement, not only with those who are directly engaged in our services but also their families, carers, advocates or concerned others. The Corner House is committed to developing a minimum of 25 hours per week of meaningful activities through a unique person centred approach for each of our residents, putting residents at the heart of decision making. This would not be possible without the support from a fully dedicated team: The Team: Senior Management - Operations Manager, Clinical Lead & Team Leader An effective team managing the day-to-day operations and challenges for the service. Overseeing, inspiring and motivating a team of staff, from highly specialised doctors and psychiatrists to nurses, project workers and support workers. This involves developing plans and coordinating resources, closely monitoring and reporting service performance, provide guidance on best practice, maintain robust quality systems and ensuring the service develops comprehensive strength-based recovery plans that always address the needs of the individual. Consultant Psychiatrist/Responsible Clinician & Associate Specialist Doctor Experts in their field this role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide a range of support, services and advise to both staff members and our clients. Psychology With a team of a Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Psychologist, the service aims to reduce psychological distress and to enhance and promote psychological wellbeing. This involves direct and indirect clinical work, research, audit and service development, clinical supervision and training. Occupational Therapy Encouraging and monitoring our client’s progress by providing person centered assessments using specific activities to promote independent function in all aspects of daily life. Having a sound knowledge base, our OT works closely with our clients to enable them to lead full and satisfying life as independently as possible. Nurses A dedicated and diverse team, essential to improving or maintaining our client’s physical and mental health. Being the first point of contact and taking overall responsibility to ensure the smooth running of each shift. Service Administration Our Service Administrator provides essential support for the whole team and is the backbone and part of the vital front line of the service. Service Mental Health Act Administration The MHA administrator is key in ensuring the effective administration and implementation of the Mental Health Act within the service. Project Worker/Activities Coordinator A vital role to develop, encourage and support our client’s involvement and participation in community activities, enabling them to achieve their rehabilitative goals. Housekeeper Essential in providing a high standard of domestic cleaning services within the building and ensuring health and safety measures are met. Promoting well being and healthy life choices through a person centred approach with our residents when supporting them with cleaning tasks. Cook Overseeing the running of a busy kitchen, supporting residents with food choices and working towards healthy eating. Our kitchen’s systems and facilities has been awarded a 5 star rating by the environmental health officer, this is the highest rating achievable. Support Workers We have a team of dedicated Support Staff. Their hands-on role supports our residents with their individual needs to improve their living skills, promote independence, wellbeing and healthy life choices, helping them to achieve their daily goals as well as realise their longer term ambitions. That could mean getting involved with anything from accompanying people to the shops, cooking a meal, cleaning or even just being there to listen.
