Tulsa Area United Way Announces Staff Promotions
The Tulsa Area United Way has announced an additional staff member and several
promotions among its existing team.
Heidi Braver has been named account executive. She earned a bachelor of arts in
Japanese from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She most recently served as plan
services specialist for Bank of Oklahoma and a loaned executive at the Tulsa Area United Way.
She also worked for TIAA-CREF. She is a board member of the Riverfield Country Day School
Family Association.
Sharon Gallagher has been named director of collaborative initiatives, representing the
Tulsa Area United Way in a variety of community-wide collaborations including A Way Home
for Tulsa and the Promise Neighborhood Initiative. She previously served as vice president,
community investments for the Tulsa Area United Way and executive director of Leadership
Tulsa, Inc. She serves in leadership roles for the Funders’ Roundtable, Oklahoma Center for
Poets and Writers and Clarehouse. She chairs the Neighborhood Revitalization Advisory Board,
which oversees work supported by the Promise Neighborhood and Choice Neighborhood grants.
She has served on the boards of Town and Country School, Youth Services of Tulsa, LIFE
Senior Services and the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits. She holds a bachelor’s degree from
Viterbo College in Wisconsin and a master’s degree from OU – Tulsa.
Hannah McGown has been named agency specialist in the community investments
department at the Tulsa Area United Way. She previously served as finance specialist at the
United Way. She received a B.A. in English from Oklahoma State University.
Matthew Pockrus has been named campaign division manager. He is a graduate of the
University of Arkansas. He formerly served as a senior account executive and loaned executive
with the Tulsa Area United Way. He is a member of the board of directors of the Route 66
Marathon.
Cynthia Qualls has been named senior director, campaign operations. She has worked at
the Tulsa Area United Way for 15 years, most recently as campaign director. She has been with
the United Way system for 20 years, beginning her career at the United Way of Metropolitan
Dallas. She received a B.S. in business administration from Northeastern State University.
Bonnie Rucker has been named senior marketing specialist. Rucker has served as
marketing specialist at the United Way for three years. She previously worked at Oral Roberts
University. She holds a B.A. from the University of Central Oklahoma. Previously, she served as
public relations coordinator at Oral Roberts University. She is treasurer for the Tulsa chapter of
the Public Relations Society of America, and a member of the board of directors of the Tulsa
Symphony Orchestra and the planning committee for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
