Carolinas HealthCare System Rehabilitation Services Physical Abilities Test Screen Applicant Information for Test Day The following information should be shared with the applicant prior to testing: You will undergo a Physical Ability Testing Screen that has been tailored to the most demanding tasks of the job for which you are applying. Bring a driver’s license or photo ID. Wear loose fitting clothes, stable, non-slip shoes; do not wear mini-skirts, tight fitting slacks/jeans, and/or shorts; Wear stable non-slip shoes defined as: Non-skid soles (tennis shoe, or leather sole with ridges/non-slip pattern); No slippers, no crocs, no sling-back shoes, no flip-flops, no sandals; Take any and all medications, as prescribed; If possible, bring medication containers or a list of medications to the screening. Refrain from caffeine and nicotine prior to screening to minimize impact on heart rate and blood pressure. Resting blood pressure and heart rate will be checked prior to and throughout testing. If your blood pressure and heart rate falls outside specific parameters, you will be required to obtain from your physician a signed medical clearance form prior to testing, for your safety. If you are pregnant, you will be required to obtain from your physician a signed medical clearance form prior to testing, for your safety. If you have had recent surgery, testing may be deferred until written clearance is obtained from the surgeon who performed the surgery.
