SEQUOIA BRIGADE CAMP
WHITE WATER CANOE TRIP
“WHAT TO BRING”
REQUIRED ITEMS
 6 Lengths of ¼ inch braided nylon rope cut to 4 foot lengths with ends
melted to avoid fraying
Sleeping bag (Polarguard, Holofill, or other good synthetic fill)
Ground pad (Ensolite, ethafoam, Therm-a-rest, etc) or air mattress
Tent
Rain poncho or rain suit
Baseball-style or wide-brimmed hat
One pair long pants, one pair shorts
Swim suit
T-shirts (NO wording or pictures which would not be appropriate for
Christians or Sequoia Brigade Camp)

Windbreaker or jacket

Sweater or sweat shirt

Underwear and socks

1 Pair of shoes for out of the water (Tennis shoes or boots)

1 Pair of shoes for use in the water (Tennis shoes, Sandals or Water Socks
are all fine but they must not fall off in running water.)

One or Two towels

Toilet articles, bio-degradable soap

Sunblock or sunscreen, lip ice

Flashlight or headlamp with extra batteries

Water bottle
 Cup/bowl/plate/utensils

Mosquito repellent (liquid, not spray)

Waterproof bags / buckets (see “Waterproofing” sheet)

Bible

Pen(s) or pencil(s)
 Travel clothes (Clean clothes for trip up and back.)









Wool ski cap
Sun glasses with safety strap
Pocket knife
Camera and film (at your own risk)
If you wear glasses you will need a safety strap for them
Soft knee pads (for kneeling in the canoe)
Tarp or ground-cloth (for sleeping on)
