Unit Plan Overview
Travis Shaw
Soviet Union
Introduction:
Soviet Union History/ Social Studies Grade 10
Timeframe of 2 weeks (10 days)
Travis Shaw
For my Unit plan I want to continue with the trend of the history of the Soviet Union. I
was thinking of doing it chronologically. The chronological approach would have each day or
lesson have a chunk of Soviet history, starting with essential pre-soviet era information and
going
up until the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. This approach would also have major themes
connected to each lesson such as the revolution, communist ideology, WW2, the cold war, and
the collapse of the USSR. The lesson will also talk about the Soviet Union decade by decade,
and explore major events, leaders, geography, and concepts necessary to understanding this
history.
