Experian’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (“EMEA”) region operates a matrix structure across four functions/business lines (Commercial Strategy, Sales, Operations and Marketing Services over 15 markets. The EMEA Finance function has around 100 employees spread across 10 countries and is part of Experian’s global finance function of approximately 1,000 employees. Role Description This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and pivotal finance team. The role is part of the regional Financial Planning and Analysis (“FP&A”) function and reports directly to the Head of FP&A for EMEA. The FP&A Analyst will work closely with the various Functional, Business Line and country Finance teams in EMEA as well as the Group Finance team on a range of activities around the region. Primarily responsible for co-ordinating and delivering key regional reporting and planning activities with stakeholders across the region as well as being the key contact for markets within the EMEA region. You will work closely with regional and country Finance colleagues to gain in depth knowledge of the business to enable you to deliver insightful analysis. These activities are fundamental to the formulation and appraisal of the regional strategy and as a result will lead to exposure to the EMEA Leadership Team including the EMEA Managing Director (“MD”), EMEA Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) and functional leaders (such as the Directors of Commercial Strategy, Sales and Operations) as well as local Finance Directors within the EMEA markets. You will be responsible for: Leading region-wide co-ordination of reporting (e.g. monthly close of trading results) and planning (i.e. forecast) activities. Creating financial analysis (e.g. quarterly Q&A review and Half Year Review) for the regional EMEA Leadership Team. Manage the creation of ad hoc analysis for the regional EMEA Leadership Team, Group Finance and Global Business Lines. Acting as business partner to the regional heads of the Sales Operations and Finance Operations and their teams. Accurate management of a central cost base of around $20 million. Clearly communicate timelines and deliverables to stakeholders. Proactively managing the robustness and timely receipt of deliverables from the various stakeholders – including regional and country Finance colleagues. Drive process improvements, best practice and standardisation of Management Information as well as consistent data quality across the region. This role will also include responsibility for driving broader EMEA regional projects and programmes. These will include: Helping drive transformation to Global Finance 2020 vision, including input into finance activities suitable to be carried out in low-cost centres of excellence. Key outputs of the role include: Reporting deliverables such as: Co-ordinating and delivering monthly trading results across the region Planning deliverables such as: Co-ordinating and delivering the monthly forecast across the region The Half Year Review of regional performance Quarterly “Q&A” analysis of regional performance and outlook Input into the annual budget and five-year Strategic Plan Ad hoc analysis for the regional EMEA Leadership Team, Group Finance and Global Business Lines as required including (but not limited to): Understanding trends in new business and volumes Understanding the impact of foreign exchange on marekt profitability Finance works closely with the regional, functional and country leadership – identifying and tracking opportunities whilst delivering timely and insightful data and analysis. What will they need to have for this role i.e. competencies, skills and qualifications Requires a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or international equivalent), ideally with some post-qualified experience. The successful candidate for this role would: Demonstrate experience of managing multi-jurisdictional relationships and/or at a FTSE 100 business Quickly establish and build strong working relationships with key stakeholders (including regional and country Finance colleagues as well as the regional CFO) Demonstrate effective organisation and time-management skills – with the capability to deliver multiple work-streams in parallel day-to-day priorities Work independently – taking ownership of work and proactively managing upward Demonstrate strong attention to detail Utilise strong presentation and communication skills Ability to influence and confidence in decision making Drive process improvements, champion the use of the finance systems and ensure that activities are both efficient and effective Demonstrate strong Excel skills – an understanding of VBA and experience of Hyperion Essbase would be advantageous
