Through this training course the participants will acquire competencies needed to raise awareness about social injustices and motivate others to take action for more equality in the world, to be mindful and willing to protect human rights. The specific objectives of this training course will be to: provide participants with necessary skills, knowledge and attitudes to ensure a high quality training process (e.g. increase competencies to design, implement and evaluate educational activities, improve participants’ skills in group dynamics management, presentation and facilitation skills) explore and experience innovative training methods such as Forum Theatre and Outdoor Education as well as other tools for anti-discrimination and social justice work provide a mini training on human rights in intercultural context, focusing on exploring inequities, social injustice, power imbalance, xenophobia and discrimination as a result of bias and stereotype encourage participants to be the "challengers" of all forms of discrimination stimulate a paradigm shift in YFU where intercultural education is not merely linked to cultural backgrounds and encouraging intercultural understanding, but encompasses also exploring socio-economic-political implications provide a possibility to practice newly gained competences and impact a local community The participants of this training course will be volunteers and staff who either have already training experience (advanced track) or wish to become trainers (starting trainers track). We will be looking for persons interested in the issues of social injustice, inequality, discrimination and intercultural education. The training course will take place in Italy from the 21st until the 28th of May 2017. What is the target group? Where and when? What is the profile of the EEE-YFU is now looking for 5 trainers who will be responsible for facilitating the training. Interested individuals should be: aged 18+, able to work in English, knowledgeable about topics related to: (please note you do not have to be proficient in ALL topics, we are searching to create teams of trainers with complementary skills and knowledge) - training the trainers - planning and design of educational activities - group dynamics - learning cycle - Forum Theatre - Human Rights education - educational tools for workshops on social inequality, discrimination, power imbalance - Outdoor Education - Intercultural Education committed to work with other trainers in the team in preparing the training to a high and professional level, experienced in training and/or facilitation committed to participate in the full duration of the training. trainers? Trainers should also be able to attend a weekend preparatory meeting in Brussels, Belgium.
