Career Profile
Lee has over 14 years’ experience working on and leading a broad range of construction industry and
conveyance infrastructure projects. Lee’s experience within the construction environment consisted of
his previous positions of Project Manager and Senior Project Engineer for Parsons Brinckerhoff within
the Resources East business unit. His main tasks involved leading and managing teams to deliver
supporting infrastructure (various buildings, conveyance pipelines and pumps stations, roads, dams
(raw and tailings), raw water infrastructure, creek diversions, construction camps and warehouses) for
various locations in Queensland.
Lee holds a position of Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer and Project Manager for the EPCM Group
and this position has allowed him to further develop his career through Superintendent roles gaining
experience in AS2124 and administering contracts. These roles has allowed him to further extend his
experience in Project Management, Contracts Management and Contract Administration. These roles
have also supported his Project Management formal studies and career experience.
Lee is the company founder and director of ESUS Project Engineering Services Pty Ltd, and currently
works as a Senior Engineer (Environmental & Civil) and Project Manager for various private and public
clients in south-east Queensland.
Lee has also complemented his current knowledge with sound knowledge in hydrogeology and
contaminated land management throughout his career at Parsons Brinckerhoff.
Lee’s experience within the engineering consultancy business has allowed him to hold positions of
Lead Engineer and Project Manager for a number of multi-disciplinary design, construction and
planning teams to prioritise and manage projects. As well as managing these projects he ensures that
he supports employees to develop and learn, prepare career development plans and resolve conflicts

Manager. Controlled and managed two work packages which include identification and progression of
water management strategy package for a creek diversion and detail design of a heavy vehicle wash
bay. The water management strategy for the creek diversion included tailings dam seepage
contamination, creek diversion and storage dam relocation. Detail design of the heavy vehicle wash
bay package included engaging engineering consultant for the design and project management of
detail design delivery for site.


2012. Lead Engineer. The work package included leading onsite personnel, contractors and design

2012. Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer and Design Manager. Design, managed and developed
design drawings packages of potable water and sewer networks for the Phase 1 and Phase 2
expansion of the Mine Infrastructure Area to a level for an award of a D&C contract.
Logan Water Alliance – Beenleigh WWTP Effluent Recycling Water Design, Logan Water, Logan QLD
2011. Water and Sewer Engineer. The work package included detail design of the recycled effluent
water networks for the Beenleigh WWTP. Delivery included producing authorised RPEQ for
construction drawings for the effluent water network

Woolloongabba Sewer Augmentation Stage 3 2009, Brisbane, Qld, Australia, Brisbane Water. Water
and Sewer Engineer. Sewer feasibility study regarding ability of network system to provide for
population expansion within catchment. Provided feasibility report detailing costs, modelling results
and option assessment to satisfy customer service standards for asset improvement.

Wandoan Water Network Analysis 2010, Wandoan, Qld, Australia, Wandoan Coal Project. Modeller
and Project Manager. Carried out and managed water network modelling analysis using software
program MIKE Urban to determine size and length of water infrastructure to satisfy council’s Customer
Standards of Service for supply of water to a 400 persons Construction Camp.

Determined the suitability of natural ground relative to seepage and transmissivity for the new Tarong
Ash Dam. Conducted a transmissivity test for three locations on new ash dam site near Tarong Power
station. Analysed test to for the geological engineering report.

Acland Coal Mine Stage 2 2007, Darling Downs, Qld, Australia, New Hope Coal. Civil/Environmental
Engineer. Investigation of the tailings dam dewatering infrastructure to upgrade tailings infrastructure
and dam wall raise. Prepared design report, including estimated cost for delivery of tailings water from
new stage 2 tailings dam to clean water pond. Designed pump system and delivery pipeline.

Dawson Mine Water Supply Study 2007, Moura, Qld, Australia, Dawson Mine. Civil/Environmental
Engineer. Asset assessment of infrastructure consisting of water treatment processes and existing
water networks. Conducted site and design office liaising for water supply and option assessment
investigations to determine best solution for delivery of potable water to mine central and north

Australia, Origin Alliance. Senior Engineer designed, construction and establishment of
hydrogeological monitoring and extraction bores to allow for mine fill grouting. Investigation and
reporting on grout fill operations and impact of groundwater on the surrounding environment into
underground mines.

Alpha Coal, Central Queensland 2010. Senior Water Engineer. The assigned project involved
preliminary design of dewatering network and estimation of infrastructure costs of borefield to dewater
the coal reserve. Determined all infrastructure sizing, bore pumps and backbone water main including
estimation of total water scheme to provide for recycling.

Gold Coast Rapid Transport 2010, Gold Coast, Qld, Australia, Department of Main Roads, Traffic and
Transport. Senior Engineer. Desktop and field study to determine the potential impact and the level of
impact of the proposed rapid transport on the surrounding groundwater aquifer. Designed and
establishment of groundwater impact network, including supervision of sub-contractor drill company.
Groundwater section report formed part of Geotechnical Report.

Lady Annie Copper Project, North-central Queensland 2010, Qld, Australia, Deloitte. Environmental
Engineer. Desktop study to determine the potential impact and the level of impact from recent floods
on the surrounding groundwater aquifer. Constructed and establishment of new monitoring well
network, including managing drilling sub-contractors on site and logging of boreholes.

Paradise South Phosphate EIS 2010, North-central Queensland, Qld, Australia, Legend International
Holdings Inc. Environmental Engineer. Desktop study to determine the potential impact and the level
of risk for new mining operations and associated infrastructure on the surrounding groundwater
aquifer. Groundwater section report formed part of an Environmental Impact Statement.

Pine Rivers Dayboro Water Supplementation Investigation 2008, Dayboro, Qld, Australia, Pine Rivers
Shire Council. Hydrogeology technical officer. Investigated potential drilling locations of potential
groundwater supply to supplement depleting Dayboro water supply. Conducted geophysics across
identified faults and supervised drilling of target locations to intersect the fault.
