Jay Duffer directed The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged) for Amphibian in 2013. A Texas native,
Duffer spent many years as a professional actor and director living and working in New York City and regionally.
He currently resides in Indiana where he is Associate Professor of Theatre and Chair of the Theatre Department at
Huntington University. He has directed approximately 50 plays and musicals in the theatre program, most
recently being Will Eno’s Middletown, Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and Other Desert Cities by Jon Robin
Baitz. Past Amphibian acting credits include Wittenberg, The Nosemaker’s Apprentice, The Mystery of Irma
Vep and the workshop production of David Davalos’ new play, Daedalus, now under the name A Lost Leonardo,
which will premiere at Amphibian in October. New York acting credits include: Sophie, Totie & Belle (OffBroadway), A Lesson in Art (Dixon Place in the Bowery), Wild Thing and the original company of Monica
Flory’s highly-praised adaptation of The Jungle Book (New Acting Company). He directed the politically

DC, New York and Toronto. Duffer has been involved in new works and script development with Fort Wayne
Civic Theatre, Threads Theatre Company, Pulse Ensemble Theatre, Manhattan Theatre Source, Kaleidoscope
Theatre Company and The Artful Conspirators.

LAMDA.
Scott Zenreich* is happy to return to Amphibian, where he appeared in The Nosemaker's Apprentice and
Daedalus, wrote and directed Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins, and was assistant director for Bank Job and
Isaac's Eye. His local work includes plays with Dallas Children’s Theatre, Casa Mañana, WaterTower Theatre,
Wishing Star Productions, and Texas Shakespeare Festival. Other regional credits include the Growing Stage,
New Century Theatre, Mill Mountain Theatre, the Majestic Theatre, and Olney Theatre Center. Scott earned a
BFA in musical theatre from Emerson College. He hopes you enjoy your drink from the Amphibian bar.
Brandon Murphy* is very happy to be reprising his role in The Bible. His previous appearances on Amphibian's
stage have been in Wittenberg, The True History of the Tragic Life and Triumphant Death of Julia Pastrana, and
The Nosemaker's Apprentice. Brandon has taken part in many of Amphibian's reading series, most recently as
Stucky Stiles in Music City USA. He also served as editor in the Phibs' web series For the Love. Brandon has
performed locally around the Dallas/Fort Worth area, most recently in Really at the Undermain Theatre, A
Christmas Carol and Sense & Sensibility at the Dallas Theater Center, and as Macbeth at SMU. He has performed
locally with the Dallas Opera, Theatre Three, Shakespeare Dallas, and others. Brandon holds a BFA from Boston

About Amphibian Stage Productions
Amphibian Stage Productions is a non-profit theatre company founded in 2000 by three alumni of TCU's
Department of Theatre who strive to produce innovative and engaging theatre that inspires new ideas, opens new
doors, and increases our understanding of the vast world around us. Now in its eighteenth season, Amphibian has
produced numerous groundbreaking and challenging plays (some regional premieres, others U.S. or world
premieres) that foster a deeper understanding of ourselves as members of the global community. The company is
widely recognized for its stylistically and thematically varied scripts.
Committed to nurturing young and diverse audiences, Amphibian has developed a strong internship program, a
summer acting workshop for teens, and a dynamic outreach project, Tad-Poles, that is steadily increasing the
company’s visibility and following. The group travels to schools and community centers, performing and
spreading a message of multicultural collaboration and tolerance.
Amphibian is generously funded by the Amon G. Carter Foundation, Ann L. and Carol Greene Rhodes Charitable
Trust, Arts Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, Fifth Avenue Foundation, Mary Potishman Lard Trust,

Foundation, North Texas Giving Day and the Devonian Society, a group of Amphibian’s devoted donors who are
proud to be the force behind nurturing the next generation of artists and audiences.
