Vikki Morrow
CEO
National Black Arts Festival
In January 2008, she decided to fully own a solution for a group of girls. She became the
President & CEO of Girls Incorporated of Greater Atlanta, whose mission is to inspire all girls to be
strong, smart and bold. Vikki transitioned from a successful 20-year career in management at
AT&T (Bellsouth) where she held positions in Engineering, Sales, Product Management, Regulatory
& External Affairs and Human Resources, learning all aspects of the business, to move into
nonprofit management. At the time, Vikki offered Girl’s Incorporated of Greater Atlanta, who was
facing the most pervasive financial challenge in its 34 year history, the seasoned leadership
necessary to survive and thrive.
Vikki is a multi-dimensional leader. She uses the system’s approach of an engineer to right
size programs and improve processes; the talent development model of a human resources
executive to build and sustain excellent teams; experience in governance to enhance the board
and help develop an accountable 5-year strategic plan; along with the tenacity and courage to lead
an organization through dynamic times.
This creative problem solver maintains focus on both quality and cost. Under her leadership
outreach programs have expanded, servicing the needs of the girls at a lower cost through
innovative staffing models. Similarly, administrative costs were reduced while the facility was
made more efficient and aesthetically pleasing through her skillful management of the Girls Inc.
Program and Administrative Center renovation.
Vikki was recognized by the 2011 Trumpet Awards “High Tea with High Heels” which
spotlights women who have made their mark by breaking barriers of others. She was selected as
a 2010 “Inspiring Woman” by the Atlanta Dream (WNBA Team) and as a 2008 Nominee for the
“Leadership Character Award for Integrity” by the Turknett Leadership Group.
Vikki graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
She also earned a Masters in Public and Private Management from Birmingham Southern College.
She is a member of the 2009 Class of Leadership Atlanta. Vikki has attended the Harvard
Business School 2009 Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management Program.
Vikki made Atlanta her home 20 years ago. She is married to Derrick Morrow and is the
proud mother of two sons, Kendall and Austin Thomas.
