2. Responding to Havering’s proposals Nomination agreement The Briar Road proposals offer a valuable opportunity to provide new homes which extend and complement the range of homes already on offer on the estate. If Notting Hill Housing is selected to move forward with this project, we would propose to work with the Council, and colleagues in the ALMO, to review the needs of existing estate residents in order to identify how the new development could meet gaps in the current housing offer at the Briar Road estate. This might lead us to the inclusion, for example, of single-level accommodation for older people or others with mobility difficulties, or larger family homes to address overcrowding. We would include Council housing officers in our project team working on the planning application for Briar Road to ensure that the new homes meet local needs identified through the review process and those predicted through the Council’s local investment prioritisation process. We would expect our development agreement with the Council to include the provision of an agreed nominations strategy and detailed agreement encompassing local equality priorities in line with HCA funding requirements.
