Envirothon is a m iddle school and high school
Environmental Science curriculum competition.
Teams are comprised of five members. The team
members study: soils/land use, aquatic ecology,
forestry, wildlife and current environmental issues
during the school year.
In the spring, there are eight regional competitions in North Carolina.
Our region will host the Southern Piedmont Envirothon competition
on March 14-15, 2017 at the Center for the Environment at Catawba
College in Salisbury, NC. A written test is administered to select the
top 7 middle school and top 7 high school (and top FFA team) teams
to advance to the State Envirothon competition on April 29-30, 2017
at Cedarock Park in Burlington, NC.
One winning high school team from the State Envirothon competition
will advance to the 2017 North American Envirothon on July 23 29, 2017 at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
