Job Description





Design, perform, and analyze experiments, both independently and as supervisor.
Perform laboratory experiments in research areas related to industrial enzymes, including but
not limited to the following aspects: protein purification & quantification, assay development,
protein characterization and protein analysis using analytical methods such as chemical
analysis, gas chromatography, high-performance liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry,
calorimetry and spectroscopy. Familiarity in all and proficiency in some of the
abovementioned areas are expected.
Perform literature searches and apply learnings to the solution of various practical problems.
Function both as an individual contributor and, when needed, as a project manager.
Identify innovative industrial opportunities for enzymes by connecting with colleagues from
other R&D sites and from other functional divisions such as sales and marketing.
Job Qualifications






PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry or a related discipline with a deep understanding
of enzymology, analytical biochemistry and protein chemistry, and with practical research
experience in an academic or industrial setting (preferably biotechnology).
Proficiency in enzyme assay development and proven track record of independently
generating successful research results in the abovementioned field.
Proficiency in the operation and data analysis of common analytic instruments, including but
not limited to gas chromatography, high-performance liquid chromatography, mass
spectrometry, calorimetry and spectroscopy.
Prior experience with high-throughput screening, particularly with automated workstations, is
highly preferred.
The successful candidate should be highly innovative, have excellent organizing and
communication skills, and be able to thrive in a multidisciplinary team.
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
