Warrant® Herbicide is a residual herbicide with application flexibility in corn, soybeans, and cotton. The product can be applied preplant, at-planting, preemergence, and postemergence in these crops. With an optimum use rate of 1.5 quarts/acre, up to two applications can be made in the crop to help provide season-long residual weed control. The product can be tank mixed with other herbicides for control of emerged weeds and residual control of weeds not listed on the Warrant Herbicide label. Warrant® Herbicide Warrant Herbicide provides residual control of grasses and small-seeded broadleaf weeds, including foxtails, lambsquarters, Palmer pigweed, and waterhemp (Table 1). The product will not control emerged weeds, so it must be applied to a weed-free soil surface or in a tank-mixture with products that provide postemergence control of weeds at the time of application. Warrant Herbicide can be tank mixed with Roundup® brand agricultural herbicides and applied to corn, soybean, and cotton crops that include glyphosate-tolerant technology. The encapsulated technology helps provide improved crop safety and up to 30 days residual weed control. for extended residual weed control. Drop nozzles can help to provide optimum spray coverage and weed control when corn reaches 24 to 30 inches in height. When used in Roundup Ready® Corn 2 and corn with Roundup Ready® 2 technology, the product can be tank mixed with a Roundup agricultural herbicide targeting emerged weeds that are 2 to 4 inches in height. Warrant® Herbicide can be tank mixed with other products registered for field corn including atrazine, Aim®, Balance® PRO, Balance® Flexx, Callisto®, Clarity®, Distinct®, Impact®, Linex®, Lorox®, Marksman®, Princep®, Resource®, and 2,4-D. Read and follow the most restrictive label directions for each product in a tank mixture. Soybeans Warrant Herbicide can be applied preplant, atplanting, PRE, and POST in soybeans using rates from 1.25 to 2 quarts/acre depending on the soil texture and organic matter content. The optimum use rate is 1.5 quarts/acre. The product can be applied up to the R2 growth stage of soybeans. It is recommended that applications be made before soybeans reach the V3 stage in order to help maximize soil contact, reduce Table 1. Annual grass and broadleaf weeds controlled by Warrant® Herbicide. Barnyardgrass Red Rice Henbit Corn Crabgrass Sandbur Lambsquarters Warrant Herbicide can be applied preplant, atplanting, and preemergence (PRE) in corn only in certain southern states (AL, AR, GA, LA, MS, NM, NC, OK, SC, TN, TX, and VA). The product can be applied postemergence (POST) in corn without any state restrictions. Application rates of 1.5 to 3 quarts/acre can be used, depending on the soil texture and organic matter content. Warrant Herbicide can be used in field corn and production seed corn, and is not recommended for use in sweet corn. Directed applications after the V5 growth stage of soybeans help to increase soil coverage and canopy penetration. Warrant® Herbicide can be tank mixed with other products registered for soybeans including Authority® brands, Assure®, Basagran®, Classic®, Cobra®, FirstRate®, Flexstar®, Fusilade®, metribuzin, Poast®, Pursuit®, Raptor®, Reflex®, Roundup® agricultural herbicides, and Select®. Read and follow the most restrictive label directions for each product in a tank mixture. Cotton Warrant Herbicide can be applied preplant, atplanting, PRE, and POST in cotton using rates from 1.25 to 2 quarts/acre depending on the soil texture and organic matter content. Once cotton has emerged, the options for broadcast applied residual herbicides becomes limited; however, Warrant Herbicide can be applied up until the crop reaches first bloom. The optimum timing is when cotton is in the 2- to 3-leaf stage using a rate of 1.5 quarts/acre. Directed applications may be used to increase soil coverage and canopy penetration after cotton reaches the 5- to 6-leaf stage. Warrant Herbicide can be applied in a tank mixture with a Roundup agricultural herbicide up to first bloom in Genuity® Roundup Ready® Flex Cotton. The product can be tank mixed with other products registered for cotton including Assure®, Caparol®, Cotoran®, Direx®, Flexstar®, Fusilade®, Poast®, Prowl®, Pyrimax®, Reflex®, Select®, Staple®, and Valor®. Warrant Herbicide can also be tank-mixed with products applied POST-directed or with a hooded sprayer, including MSMA and Layby™ Pro. Read and follow the most restrictive label directions for each product in a tank mixture. General Use Information Up to two applications of Warrant Herbicide can be applied in a crop during the season, not to exceed a total of 4 quarts/acre per season. Mechanical incorporation or preplant incorporation application is not recommended. After application, it is important for Warrant Herbicide to be activated by water for the product to be effective. At least 0.5 inch of rainfall or irrigation is needed for good activation of the herbicide. If this does not occur within two weeks after application, a shallow cultivation, if possible, can help with activation. Application of Warrant Herbicide followed by conditions that do not favor adequate crop growth or which causes stress (cold, wet soils), or under waterlogged conditions from excessive irrigation or rainfall, may result in crop injury. Application with other residual herbicides may increase the potential for crop injury. Warrant Herbicide qualifies for Roundup Ready PLUS® Crop Management Solutions incentives. The Roundup Ready PLUS platform provides useful information about weed management, including how to reduce the risk, how to manage it and how to receive incentives to offset herbicide costs. The platform features regionally-specific recommendations for using herbicides, as well as agronomic recommendations developed by leading university weed scientists.
