Indus Valley: Geographical Location
A number of small rivers run down from the Himalaya Mountains. Then they join to form one large
river, the Indus. This river flows south across what is now Pakistan as far as the Arabian Sea.
In ancient times, the climate was wetter than it is today, with plenty of rain. Also, the river often
flooded. The floodwaters left rich soil, called silt, on the land near the river.
Think about what you know about early civilization to form in the Indus Valley? Give a detailed
explanation for your answer.
