We are looking for an apprentice Energy Analyst Context & Mission: The Energy Strategy & Risk deparment provides analysis on energy markets, market insights, risk analysis, hedging strategies and follows a worldwide portfolio of energy exposure for LafargeHolcim Group.The apprentice will work across multi-energy sources providing analytical support to ongoing market movements, in solid fuels (coal, petcoke), power and gas. He/she will be expected to perform research and analysis on energy markets including developing new models, as well as contribute to the cost reporting and analytical deliverables of the Energy Desk. Main responsibilities: Strategic studies: (1) Evolution of energy markets on short and medium terms (power, gas, coal) including regulatory factors (2) Develop ad-hoc fundamental energy market and/or sector analysis to provide oversights for a wide range of energy sources. Translate market analysis and present hedging strategies for risk management purposes. Support Energy Desk Front Office Manager in trade capture, assessment of future energy consumption and data/contract management. Controlling & reporting: Contribute to the monthly & quarterly reporting cycle on Group energy expenditure Maintain/Improve the model to measure Mark-to-Market estimations of LafargeHolcim solid fuels contracts versus main solid fuels indices (API2, API4, NWC and PACE) Profile description: Strong analytical skills, able to work with complex models and large amounts of data Strong communication skills, including solid written, oral and presentation required. Knowledge of Energy Markets & underlying fundamentals, as well as a technical understanding of energy is a plus Education background : “Master 2” or equivalent in Business School or Engineering, or Specialized Masters in Energy Languages: Fluent English Knowledge- Skills required : MSOffice (Excel VBA, Word, Power Point).
