Students are identified as gifted in reading/language arts or superior cognitive ability. In some cases students must show high potential in reading, language arts and cognitive ability. Students meet daily for a double 40-minute period, working individually and in small and large groups, to compact the required skills and enrich in the areas of reading and language arts. The program is considered preparation for the high school Honors English program.
