A vitamin is a nutrient that helps the body use carbohydrates, protein and fats.
Vitamins provide no energy to the body directly, but help unleash energy stored
in carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
There are two types of vitamins:
A fat-soluble vitamin is a vitamin that dissolves in fat and can be stored in
the body.
A water-soluble vitamin is a vitamin that dissolves in water and cannot be stored
by the body in significant amounts.
Fat soluble vitamins include: vitamins A, D, E and K.
