Assessment
-bellwork
-recall what is known about
circumference could relate here radian
to degree.
-powerpoint presentation of central
and inscribed angles and arcs.
-independent investigation exercise
with summary statement.
Add vertical angle relationship.

-bellwork
-survey of 10.5 and 10.1 section in
text. Note: some sections I select the
problem to defend, others I let student
explain a problem of their choosing to
explain.
-use bright storm videos for review
during work time/interview time.
Select several application problems.
Student

Cluster- Understand and apply theorems about circles
Standard identify and describe relationships among inscribed angles, radii and chords
Standard construct a tangent line form a point outside a given circle to the circle
Standard derive using similarity the fact that the length of the arc intercepted by an angle
is proportional to the radius, and define the radian measure of the angle as the constant of
proportionality; derive the formula for the area of a sector.
Vocabulary:
Circle, center, radius, diameter, congruent, chord, secant, tangent, tangent circles,
coplanar, concentric, common tangent. Interior/exterior of a circle, point of tangency,
central angle, minor arc, major arc semicircle, measure of a minor/ major arc, congruent
arcs, inscribed angle, intercepted arc, inscribed, circumscribed, tangent segment, secant
segment, external segment, standard equation of a circle, locus. Perpendicular, endpoint
of a circle, sector,
