Tree Global is an international tree nursery business. We establish tree nurseries near to our
customers’ planting sites and sell 6- to 12-month old seedlings to customers who will require a
minimum of one million seedlings per year. By applying the world’s most advanced growing
techniques, we grow “High Performance Seedlings” – seedlings which have faster growth rates, higher
survival rates and greater productivity.
Our customer offering has three components:
1. High Performance Seedlings. Using advanced growing systems, we grow seedlings that
have higher survival rates and are more robust, resulting in faster growth rates and greater
productivity;
2. Service. We establish tree seedling nurseries to serve large scale projects;
3. Seedling Management. We support clients with seedling management services as required.

Tree Global is a young dynamic company entering into a period of rapid growth. We are seeking
experienced growers and nursery managers / horticulturalists to lead the implementation of projects
around the world.
Role and Responsibilities
Growers and Nursery Managers will lead the large-scale production of High Performance Seedlings in
projects around the world. This role will require flexibility and the ability to relocate internationally.
Growers and Nursery Managers will work under the supervision of Tree Global’s Director of Nursery
Methodologies. The principal responsibility of the position is to manage project implementation to
successful results, encompassing three phases:
 Nursery management and growing native trees and shrubs
 Order fulfillment and delivery of nursery plants to out-planting operations
 Project set-up and expansion
It is likely that in some regions Tree Global may have more than one grower or nursery manager
working as a team on a project.

Key responsibilities by phase include:
Nursery management and plant growth
 Achieve annual nursery production plan targets, working within the parameters of the annual
budget
 Work with the Director of Nursery Methodologies and other Growers and Nursery Managers
to set protocols for germination and growing processes, and then implement these processes
 Manage and ensure satisfactory performance of nursery staff on a daily basis
 Ensure proper care of plant materials during nursery phases
 Implement quality control programs
 Trouble-shoot as needed to keep the operation running smoothly
 Train staff in horticulture best management practices
 Monitor and react quickly to potential problems or threats to the health of the plants
 Ensure timely adherence to key steps in the plant growth protocol (e.g. transfer of plants
from the propagation facility to the growing facility)
 Document plant growth through measurements and photographs
 Ensure proper maintenance of the nursery facility and equipment
 Maintain accurate and timely inventory and financial records
Order fulfillment and delivery of plants to out-planting sites
 Supervise the order fulfillment process (pulling, staging, loading)
 Coordinate the transport and delivery of trees to planting sites
 Assist in the training of staff and supervision of tree planting if required
Project Set-up and Start-up







Conduct rapid site assessments of nursery facilities
Develop nursery expansion and project management plans
Establish or upgrade greenhouses and accompanying infrastructure
Coordinate the delivery, organization and stockpiling of project materials and equipment
Supervision of construction work crews and contractors
Assist in determining the project staffing requirements, and then recruitment
Conduct staff training
Capability Requirements








Demonstrated knowledge of horticultural practices across a variety of species and environments
Thorough knowledge of plant propagation and cultivation
Experienced in greenhouse growing techniques and management
Experienced in nursery management including facilities installation and maintenance
Successful international work experience
Excellent personnel management skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
An degree or equivalent experience in horticulture, agriculture, forestry nursery management or

related field
Minimum 3 years of experience, with demonstrated project management experience
Proven ability to learn new concepts
Strong ability to apply concepts to a variety of situations and continue to experiment to improve
upon growing methodology
Confident in the use of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word)
Must be able to work in English with native and non-native English speakers
