Items to be attached to the scholarship application:
1. In 200 words or less, please express to the KBS Scholarship Committee why you feel you
would be a good ambassador of this award. (It must be typed.)
2. College Transcript.
3. Letter of recommendation (see below).
This application and all other attached materials must be
submitted or postmarked by February 28, 2017 to the

Three scholarships will be awarded, one for $500 and two for $250. To be considered for these KBS
Scholarships, students must be majoring in a business-related program, such as office systems, management,
marketing, finance, accounting, economics, information systems, etc., and must be currently enrolled in at least 6
hours.
Judging will be based on the following:
1) Actual Cumulative GPA, including Fall 2016 semester (up to 4.0 points). Be sure to include transcript!
2) Written Statement. Students will write a paragraph or two explaining why he or she should get (or needs) the
KBS Scholarship (up to 8.0 points)
3) Letter of Recommendation from one faculty member, preferably from a KBS member (automatic 6.0 points)
4) Additional letter of recommendation from a faculty member (optional, but worth an additional 2.0 points).
Total (maximum of 20 points)
