Important information Announcing discontinued development of Sage 100 Contractor 2014 v19.8 Notice 17-C | April 18, 2017 Audience This notice is sent as a benefit of your Sage Business Care plan and provides important information about the future development of Sage 100 Contractor 2014. Note: If you are not the person who plans software upgrades for your company, please forward this email to the correct person. Announcement As of July 1, 2017 Sage will no longer provide additional updates to Sage 100 Contractor 2014 (v19.8), including payroll tax releases. Note: Version 20 will be the only version of Sage 100 Contractor for which we will provide payroll tax tables for year-end 2017. You must be using version 20 to install and use the 2017 year-end tax update. Do not wait to upgrade! Because version 20 is a major softare upgrade that involves migrating your data to a new platform, you should plan your upgrade now, well before the busy tax season. What you’re missing if you’re not using version 20! Sage 100 Contractor 2016 (SQL) v.20 is built on a Microsoft© SQL Server database, an up-to-date platform that offers improved security and a sound basis for future development. While this release represents a huge shift in technology for Sage 100 Contractor, we have done our utmost to minimize the learning curve for you. You will recognize Sage 100 Contractor menus and windows with the same look and feel as in earlier versions with enhanced features, including these changes that help you find the business data you need quickly and easily: Versatile lookup windows where you can display, hide, and reorder columns; view the names of vendors, accounts, and more, along with record numbers when searching; and find records more quickly, with results that are now filtered as you type. The ability to view change history for records. Many data entry windows include a View menu, with options that enable company administrators to view the history of changes to a selected record. Microsoft SQL Server comes with many powerful features, but you don't have to be an expert to take advantage of them! We have built a new Database Administration tool to help you perform all database administration tasks, including setting up and updating companies, refining advanced settings, and selecting options for automatic nightly backups, history retention, and database maintenance. Besides handling all the database tasks that you are most likely to perform, Database Administration was designed to optimize your data for Sage 100 Contractor and provides functions that are not included in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio. Additional features designed to ease your transition to this version include: One-click download and installation of SQL Server 2014 Express A migration utility that smoothly migrates your company data to SQL Server Simplified upgrades for upgrading workstations Side-by-side operation with version 19.8 Existing licenses shared between versions 19.8 and 20 More exciting changes in the works for version 20! In response to customer feedback, Sage is making strident efforts to employ new features that you've asked for. Plan your upgrade now! Consider the following information as you plan your upgrade: Sage 100 Contractor Estimating Basic is compatible with Sage 100 Contractor (SQL). Sage Estimating (SQL), which is compatible with Sage 100 Contractor (SQL), will be available in late May 2017 following a controlled release program. Note: If you would like to participate in the controlled release, apply by completing this survey. We are preparing a solution for PlanSwift® users. We are creating a transition plan for Buyout, which will be available soon. Note: If you use Buyout, we want to hear from you! Please complete this survey. If you use Sage 100 Contractor Intelligence Reporting, follow the steps in Using Sage 100 Contractor Intelligence Reporting versions 19 and 20 (KB 75640). If you use other third-party products that integrate with Sage 100 Contractor, check with those third-party developers to ensure they are fully compatible with Sage 100 Contractor 2016.
