How do I report a claim? Call 1-800-876-4163 The sooner your insurer knows about the claim, the sooner they can start the claim process by investigating and assessing the loss. Depending on the type, complexity or the potential amount of the claim, the insurance company will either assign the claim to a telephone adjuster, who will contact and handle your claims by telephone, or to a field adjuster who will make contact and handle your loss at your offices and location of the loss. He will guide you through all the steps & documents required to determine the value of the loss. The field adjuster will meet with you as soon as possible after a loss to review the following; o The circumstances surrounding the loss o The type and nature of the physical damages to your assets o How these damages affect your operations and business o Your priorities following the loss and moving towards recovery o How your insurance policy or policies may or may not respond to various aspects of your losses o The steps in the claim adjustment process, including the procedure for advance payments to deal with immediate financial needs o The need for a signed authorization form to allow the insurance company to investigate the circumstances surrounding the loss and gather the necessary information and documentation to support your loss o What information and documentation is required in support of your claim o What other professionals who may be retained by the insurance company with respect to investigating the circumstances surrounding the loss or assessing the damages sustained as a result of the loss. Other professionals involved in the adjustment of your claim: From time to time, the insurer will require the services of specialized professionals such as cause and origin experts, architects, engineers, equipment consultants, restorers, contractors, and accountants to assist with the review of the claim you are presenting. These professionals are retained by the insurance company and are paid for by the insurance company. These costs do not affect the limits of coverage under your policy.
