Job Title : Assistant Football Development Officer (Women and Girls)
JOB SUMMARY
Reports To: Football Development Officer
Job Purpose:
To lead and develop all areas of girls’ and women's football.
Ensure there are football opportunities for all from under represented groups.
To carry out any other duties as required to support delivery of the Isle of Man FA Development Plan.

Graduate/Graduate calibre
Experience of Sports/Football Development
Ability to work strategically with partner organisations to deliver
programmes and courses
Knowledge and understanding of the FA National Game Strategy,
national initiatives and issues in relation to sports and football
development
Target setting
Understanding of girls' football structures and development pathways
at local, regional and national level
An understanding of the barriers to participation faced by females
and knowledge of sports equity issues
Knowledge of structures for disability football and development
pathways
Knowledge of small sided football and Futsal
Understanding of equality and barriers preventing those from under
represented groups participating in football.
Ability to work as part of a team and also to demonstrate the use of
individual initiative
Project management skills – to plan, set and achieve objectives
within strict deadlines
Experience of writing reports and excellent IT skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Monitoring and evaluation
Driving License


JOB SUMMARY
Major Objectives
Write and implement the girls’ and women's sections of the County
Development Plan, manage the budgets and access any funding
opportunities to support further development within the game
Growth and Retention








Develop programmes to sustain and increase participation in mini
soccer, youth female football and adult football
Develop programmes to sustain and increase participation in small
sided football and Futsal for female players
Offer different formats of football such as short term leagues,
Festivals and Summer leagues for male and female players
Develop programmes to sustain and increase participation for
players with disabilities and players from minority ethnic communities
including promotion of the ‘Kick it Out – Racism’ campaign
Support the retention of female players aged 14-19 by providing
more flexible formats of football (e.g. eight week leagues, mini
leagues, summer football, Just Play)
Support and build links between schools, colleges, universities and
FA Charter Standard Clubs (especially the school-club link
programme) for female and disabled players as well as those from
under represented groups.
Provide a clubs services programme offering a range of training and
support services for those providing playing opportunities for female
and disabled players and those from under represented groups.
Provide a high quality introduction to football within schools, working
with School Sports Partnerships to deliver coaching, out of school
hours programmes, volunteering and young leadership programmes,
and supporting the implementation of the competitions framework for
girls


Support and increase the number of female teams
Retain existing teams

Support and increase the number of Charter Standard Clubs,
Community Clubs and leagues
Raising Standards

Ensure implementation of the FA Charter Standard Programme
Provide support and lead clubs through the Charter Standard
Healthcheck process

Better Players and Coaches




Implementation of the Player Development Centre

IOMFA stakeholder survey

Support and increase the number of female coaches, tutors, young
leaders and volunteers
Lead on management of the Player Development Centre.
Work with the FA to monitor the Centre in accordance with FA rules
and regulations.
Write annual Girls Player Development Centre business plan and
submit to the FA.
Running the Game



Establish and implement a women and girls competition programme
across the whole game.
Implement monitoring and evaluation of all programmes
Support the development of the IOMFA interpretation of Game
Changer
Workforce




Ensure that female coaches as well as those from under represented
groups are developed, all coaching courses are promoted and that a
coach database is kept updated
Facilitate the co-ordination of the County FA female coach mentoring
scheme
Identify, recruit, employ and line manage coaches to deliver activities
and ensure the professional development of these coaches
Support volunteers in the game and ensure the Football Futures
programme is offered to female and disabled young leaders as well
as those from under represented groups

Support clubs and Player Development Centres to access
appropriate quality facilities
Support clubs to access small grants from the Football Foundation
and other sources
Support applicants to develop football development plans for
applications to funding agencies including the Football Foundation
Marketing, PR and Communications

JOB SUMMARY
Assist Football Services Officer to implement the IOMFA Customer
Excellence Service Improvement Plan.
Support the delivery of targeted campaigns e.g. girls united
Positively raise the profile of girls’ and women’s, disability football,
and opportunities for those from under represented groups, including
promotion of all opportunities on the County Website, Social Media,
press releases, e-newsletters, etc
